SMPTE/AES/SBE Holiday Party

Dave Kolesar - Excellence in Engineering Award
Dave Kolesar - Excellence in Engineering Award

Guest Speaker: You!

December 4, 2019

Many members and friends of the SMPTE Washington DC Section - AES DC Section - SBE Chapter 37 all enjoyed an evening of great Food, Drink, and Conversation with industry colleagues.

Highlights of the evening included awards presented to Rick Singer for outstanding technical program coordination.  Radio World presented their Excellence in Engineering award to our own Dave Kolesar, CBT, CBNT, and Senior Broadcast Engineer at the Washington, DC market Hubbard Radio, LLC radio stations.  Dave was recognized for his efforts with all-digital AM broadcasting.  See the photo below, the Radio World article, and a summary of his SBE Chapter 37 presentation.

We wish to extend special thanks to our generous event sponsers, listed below, for helping make this year's gala possible.

Organizers of Holiday Party 2019:

SMPTE, the Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers, a professional membership association, is the worldwide leader in developing and providing motion-imaging standards and education for the communications, technology, media, and entertainment industries. An internationally recognized and accredited organization, SMPTE advances moving-imagery education and engineering across the broadband, broadcast, cinema, and IT disciplines. Since its founding in 1916, SMPTE has published the SMPTE Motion Imaging Journal and developed more than 650 standards, recommended practices, and engineering guidelines. More than 6,000 members — motion-imaging executives, engineers, creative and technology professionals, researchers, scientists, educators, and students— who meet in Sections throughout the world, sustain the Society.
