Project Management

Pritchard Management Associates

Guest Speaker: Carl Pritchard, PMP, EVP

June 3, 2014

For our June 3rd meeting, Carl Pritchard gave a lecture on Project Management entitled Getting Your Projects Under Control Before They Control You. Every engineer, every day, faces challenges galore. Each day we forge ahead, doing what we can to get the job done. Carl Pritchard examined how you can get control of your projects before they get control of you. He examined tricks of the trade for gathering information from others and assuring that your “little” projects don't explode into something big.

Carl Pritchard, PMP, EVP is the principal of Pritchard Management Associates—a project management training and consulting firm based in the greater Washington, D.C. area. He is the lead chapter author for the Guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge, 4th Edition, risk management chapter, and the author of five texts in project management. He is the U.S. Correspondent for the British project management magazine, Project Manager Today, and is a senior consultant with the Cutter Consortium. He serves on the board of directors for and has lectured on management topics around the globe. He is a regular speaker on the Project Management Institute’s SeminarsWorld series and was the architect of ESI International’s landmark e-learning programs in project management. He resides with his wife Nancy and two sons in Frederick, Maryland. (Note:  PMP is not an SBE certification.)

Our June meeting was held at the new WAMU studios, 4401 Connecticut Ave Tuesday June 3rd, at 6:00 PM for food and beverages, which were kindly sponsored by our friends at Telos/Axia. The formal meeting began at 7:00 PM. A tour of the new WAMU facility began immediately following the meeting.
